OUR WEDDING IN A NUTSHELL:
After I spent literally over 80 hours planning an elopement or wedding in multiple corners of our world…….Three years after I was proposed to…...we are finally going to choose to get married in the Utah or Arizona dessert.
We don't want stress. All we want to feel is happiness, warmth, authenticity, acceptance, and love. We want the day to be planned so well that are day goes seamless, smooth, and care free. I love clean, minimal, modern, and timeless aesthetic and I want to implement that into the style of our wedding. We want our day to be filled with quality people, good aesthetics, impeccable florals, good music, quality locally sourced organic food, good vibes, happy tears, and beautiful photos and films to capture all that goodness.

OUR STORY
I, Jess picked up a camera in 1996 and fell in love with photography. Since I was a kid, I have had a deeply rooted interest in the art form. Growing up shooting film, naturally I have an affinity for all things grainy and raw, timeless and authentic….that included relationships.
Race and I were both in serious relationships and on the road to marriage. We both came across a road block when our hearts were severely broken. Through loss, betrayal, hurt, hopelessness, and loneliness….something good derived from the bad…meeting each other in 2014.
When we met, I was working for a Wedding Cinematography Company, Moving Picture Weddings. Race was a contract videographer for MP. When I first met Race, he had come into the studio to deliver footage - It was like at first sight. Based off of his style, I could tell he was a board sports kind of guy which I’m a board sports kind of girl. Though he was suppppper cute, at that time, I was only attracted to a friendship, not anything beyond that. We quickly became best friends and discovered we had all of the same interests - skateboarding, snowboarding, adventuring, rock-climbing, traveling, lovers of non-mainstream music, checking out live shows, good food, down to wearing the same brands. We were best friends and I wouldn’t allow myself to be anything more. I fell in love with him over time through watching how gentle, kind, and patient he was with my daughter. Our relationship has seen, felt and been through a whole lot including so many hospital visits we lost count, established Outlive Creative in 2015, adopted Shasta our Mini Aussie in 2015, we lived in 4 different homes, rode Mount Hood side by side many times, taught Zoey how to snowboard, and the list goes on and on. Though our road to marriage has been a rollercoaster, our love was, is, and always will be unwavering.

FROM THE GROOM - PROPOSAL STORY
Working and owning a company together with your best friend/significant other may not sound ideal to a lot of people. Throw a puppy and a 4 year old human in the equation and it gets even more interesting. It is a lot of work to handle life, work, and love, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Jess and I balance each other out that we're able to work together well enough to not get to the point of killing each other :) I had a beautiful ring custom made and my goal was to propose before Jess' birthday which is coming up in January. Christmas came around and 2016 was such an awesome year for us as people and as a company so I figured what better way to button up the year with a hike and a proposal. We set off to Abiqua Falls which is one of our favorite waterfalls. We reached the falls to discover not a single soul there except us and our puppy, Shasta. I took a handful of photos of Jess and Shasta and then handed the camera over to Jess. As she was laying on the ground taking photos of our dog, I pulled the ring out of my bag and held it in my hand for her to see when she turned around.
