Caribbean Elopement in St. Lucia

ST. LUCIA ELOPEMENT AT SUGAR BEACH, A VICEROY RESORT

Our team loves to shoot elopements. There’s something amazing about being the only ones there with the couple and watching them be able to really take in the day. We were beyond excited when Daniel and Delmarys first contacted us about shooting their Destination Wedding in the Caribbean. The emerald blue ocean, white beaches, and lush green rainforest were calling for us. We were constantly inspired by the island and what was put in front of us to shoot.

Being from Florida, Daniel and Delmarys had never been to St. Lucia or Portland so our team got to meet them in person for the first time on the island. After meeting we jumped straight into their engagement session the day before the wedding. This was a great opportunity for them to learn posing tips and tricks and get a sense for how we work. We had the engagement session in the ruins of an old Sugar Mill Plantation in Anse Mamin, St. Lucia. It was amazing and unlike anything we have ever seen before.

The next day we had off and took this opportunity to explore St. Lucia, swim in the waters with Simon Says Tours, and find great food. Our team had a rental car so we also had a chance to cruise around the island and scout locations to shoot photos and video of the environment and landscape.

On the day of the elopement we left our basecamp at The Downtown Hotel and headed south to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort to start shooting. We had an amazing vantage point of the Piton Mountains, two of the highest mountains in Saint Lucia. Danny and Del tied the knot on the beach with the Piton’s as the backdrop. It was truly an epic sight.

The experience was amazing. We loved the passion and energy that Danny and Del carried and it reflects in the imagery below.

Here’s some more tropical beauty for you to look at:

“Race and Jess were terrific. They were professional and made us feel comfortable in front of the cameras. They traveled to St Lucia to photograph and record our elopement. At first we were nervous commissioning people we had never met before to document one of the most important moments of our lives but after our first encounter with them on the island we knew we had made the right decision. They are pleasant to work with and the passion for their art is clearly visible in their disposition. The samples of their work we've seen thus far are beautiful and has us excited to see more. The fact that we're this happy and they haven't even finished with us is a testament to the quality of their work. We look forward to continuing our review. Thank you guys!”
